Student Support

Jack Vogt Scholarship Endowment
Awarded annually, this scholarship honors Jack Vogt for his 33 years of service.  Jack has helped new generations of managers, finance and budget officers, nonprofit directors, and others prepare for successful careers in public service. MPA Alumni have always known they were just a phone all away from Jack’s expertise and guidance. Learn more about the Vogt Scholarship Endowment.

Diversity Scholarship in Public Administration Endowment
This scholarship celebrates the program’s long-standing commitment to diversity. It recognizes the value that diversity brings to the educational experience of all students, as well as the importance of diversity in the leadership ranks of public institutions.

Jean Coble Scholarship Endowment
Awarded annually to entering MPA students, this scholarship honors Jean Coble, former MPA program manager, for 18 years of service to the program. Jean’s door was always open to students, alumni and faculty.

Hayman-Howard-Wright MPA Scholarship Endowment
This scholarship endowment is named for Professors Donald Hayman, Kenneth Howard, and Deil Wright, longtime members of the University of North Carolina faculty.

Nanette V. Mengel Scholarship Endowment
Established by the family of the late Professor Mengel, who taught the communications class in the MPA program for 23 years, this endowment celebrates the life of a teacher of not just communication but of life.

General Support

Master of Public Administration Program General Fund The MPA General Fund provides a broad range of support to the MPA Program. From computers, to end of year student picnics, this fund supports many of the activities that convey the unique merits of the MPA Program to its students and alumni.
