Ronald Aycock Public Administration Scholarship
This scholarship supports a student who demonstrates an interest in local government in North Carolina.
The scholarship was initially funded by the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) and friends and colleagues to honor Ronald Aycock upon his retirement after 30 years of service to county governments in North Carolina. Aycock spent his life working for and representing local governments in the state. No single honor can adequately reflect his legacy, but the scholarship, conceived by former NCACC Deputy Director Ed Regan, will ensure that Ron Aycock’s contributions to the state’s local governments will not be forgotten.
Ron Aycock joined the NCACC in 1973 as counsel for intergovernmental relations and was named executive director in 1977. He holds a BS in business administration and a JD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
